Abstract
This product is intended for use by physical therapists, doctors, and other medical professionals to measure the range of motion of a patient's joints. The physical therapist or other professional measures the angle by placing the contact surface at the bottom of the angle measuring device (as shown in the "Reference Front View Showing the Names of Each Part") against the joint of the person being measured and pressing the operating switch. "Reference Front View 1 Showing the Usage State" illustrates the measurement of the flexion angle of the joint at the base of the index finger. First, the contact surface is placed against the back of the person being measured, and the operating switch is pressed. This sets the angle of the reference plane to 0°, the same as before the index finger was flexed. 0° is displayed on the display. Next, the person measuring places the contact surface against the measuring surface above the flexed index finger of the person being measured, and presses the operating switch on the main unit again. This measures the angle of the measuring surface relative to the reference plane. The measurement result is displayed on the display. If it is difficult to bring the contact surface into contact with the reference surface and the measuring surface, attach the auxiliary guide shown in the "Reference Front View with Auxiliary Guide Attached" to the angle measuring instrument, and measure the angle by aligning the auxiliary guide with the reference surface and the measuring surface.
