Abstract

The joint of this article comprises a housing that can be deformed between a bent state and an extended state, an operating lever rotatably mounted to the housing, and a locking mechanism that can be switched between a locked state and an unlocked state depending on the rotation of the operating lever. Pipes are connected to both ends of the joint. Electrical wires are inserted inside the pipes and the housing, and the housing protects the electrical wires. When the operating lever, shown by the solid line, is rotated to the locked position, the locking mechanism is locked, and the housing is held in the extended state. When the operating lever is rotated to the unlocked position away from the housing, the locking mechanism is unlocked, and the extended housing can be deformed into a bent state. The joint is used, for example, in the arm of a drone. Pipes are used in the arm.
