Abstract
This water-sealing device is a tool for easily creating a water seal in existing drainage manholes that are not water-sealed. This device is used in conjunction with a joint to which the end of a drainpipe is connected. The structure of this water-sealing device 10 consists of an inverted concave covering part 2 that covers the drainage direction and a joint positioning part 3 attached to the inside thereof. The joint positioning part 3 consists of a horizontal restricting part 4 for restricting the horizontal position of the joint and a vertical restricting part 6 for restricting the vertical position of the joint and creating space above the joint. The horizontal restricting part 4 consists of a plurality of columnar bodies 5 that are fitted into the joint to which it is applied. The vertical restricting part 6 is a ring-shaped body that abuts against and restrains the upper end of the joint to which it is applied, and surrounds the horizontal restricting part 4 at a height position other than its lower end, and is provided integrally with the horizontal restricting part 4. As shown in Reference Figure 1, the joint 20 to which the end of the drainpipe is connected is fitted into the joint positioning part 3 in a position that has been restricted. In other words, the horizontal position is restricted by the horizontal restricting section 4 (multiple columnar bodies 5), and the vertical position is restricted by the vertical restricting section 6 (ring-shaped body), with the joint 20 fitted in place, resulting in the form shown in Reference Figure 2. The procedure for water-sealing an existing drain manhole that is not water-sealed using this product water-sealing device is as follows: Step 1 Clean the inside of the existing drain manhole and remove all dirt. Step 2 Temporarily fix the joint that fits the water-sealing device to the drain pipe side. Step 3 Raise the drain manhole if necessary. Step 4 Insert the water-sealing device into the joint and install it. Step 5 Fill the drain manhole with water and confirm that the water-sealing device maintains a water seal properly and that the overflowing water flows out normally from the drain pipe.
