Abstract

This item is pet clothing that uses lattice smocking (or Canadian smocking). More specifically, lattice smocking is used in a band-like manner on the back of the pet clothing, i.e., on the yoke seam of the back panel. This gives it the following design features: ・Placement that draws the eye: By placing the lattice in the center of the pet's back (yoke seam), it acts as the "face of the brand," attracting the most attention during walks and photo shoots. ・Visual emphasis on the waistline: The horizontal lines of the lattice create a visual effect like a waist mark, making the pet's body line look beautiful. ・Creation of contrasting materials: A dramatic contrast in texture is created by the juxtaposition of the flat body fabric and the complex three-dimensional structure (lattice) of the yoke. ・"Emerging" floral pattern: By folding a single piece of fabric, a unique design is created where a "thick pattern" that cannot be achieved with embroidery thread alone appears to rise at equal intervals. - Gradient created by light refraction: The back receives direct sunlight, creating a changing appearance depending on the time of day due to the deep shadows and bright areas produced by the uneven surface of the lattice. - Intricate assembly with extremely small pitch: While lattice smocking is usually made from grids of 2-3 cm, this product is made from small grids of approximately 1.0-1.5 cm, as it is intended for use in small pet clothing. - Fusion of function and decoration: A structural feature reminiscent of haute couture, which increases the strength of the transition area while simultaneously providing the highest quality decoration.
