Abstract

This article is a tool for scraping off the coating at the end of a cable, which has a coating layer around the conductor, to expose the conductor, and is used by attaching it to an electric drill or the like. The article also has an insertion hole at one end of a tube into which the cable end is inserted, a slidable stopper is inserted into the insertion hole, a long groove running axially from the outer circumference of the tube to the insertion hole, and the head of a threaded rod, with a threaded tip screwed into a threaded hole on the outer circumference of the stopper, protrudes from the outer surface of the tube through the long groove, and a plurality of recessed grooves are provided at intervals along the axial direction of the tube on the inner surface opposite to the long groove in the insertion hole, a plunger is provided on the outer circumference of the stopper that can be pressed into any one of the recessed grooves, and a pair of lower wing pieces protruding from opposing sides of the four sides of a fixing washer that has its central part loosely passing through the threaded rod are positioned in the long groove, and a pair protruding from the other opposing sides The upper wing piece of the stopper can be fitted into any one of the multiple locking recesses provided perpendicular to the long groove on both sides of the outer opening edge of the long groove, spaced apart in the longitudinal direction. With the plunger of the stopper fitted into one of the recessed grooves, the threaded rod is tightened into the threaded hole on the outer circumference of the stopper to fit the pair of upper wing pieces into the locking recesses, thereby fixing the stopper in the insertion hole. The end of the cable is then pushed into the insertion hole, and the tube is rotated with the electric drill, causing a cutter provided in the insertion hole to scrape off the cable's coating layer, inserting the cable until the end of the cable hits the stopper. This allows the coating of the cable end to be stripped to a desired length, exposing the conductor. The fixing position of the stopper can be easily adjusted by selecting the fixing position of the stopper, fitting the plunger into the recessed groove, and tightening the threaded rod at this position to fit the upper wing piece into the locking recess, thereby allowing the exposed length of the cable conductor to be set to a desired length.
