Abstract

To provide a toner that has a toner particle containing an organic silicon polymer for covering a toner base particle, and can achieve both an improvement in rubbing fixation property and prevention of mottle.SOLUTION: A toner has a toner particle containing a toner base particle, and an organic silicon polymer on the surface of the toner base particle. The surface of the toner base particle has protrusions formed of the organic silicon polymer. A test of shaking the toner particle according to a predetermined condition is conducted, and for the toner particle before and after the test, the total area S of the surface of the toner particle, and the area Sc of an area of the surface of the toner particle in which the surface of the toner base particle is covered by the organic silicon polymer are measured. When Sc / S in the toner particle before and after the test are defined as R0, R1, respectively, R0 is 0.30-0.70, and (R0-R1) / R0 is 0.20 or less.
