Oscillation wave motor and drive device

Abstract

To provide an oscillation wave motor capable of efficiently oscillating while reducing manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: The oscillation wave motor includes: a first elastic body 111 and a second elastic body 112; a piezoelectric element (electro-mechanical energy conversion element) 113 sandwiched between the first elastic body 111 and the second elastic body 112; and a contact body that is in pressing contact with the first elastic body 111. In the oscillation wave motor, the piezoelectric element 113 is configured such that: a contour shape of a cross-section (XY plane) perpendicular to a pressing direction (Z direction) in the pressing contact between the first elastic body 111 and the contact body is rectangular; and the first elastic body 111 is not in contact with vertices 1131-1134 of the rectangle in the piezoelectric element 113.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
