To provide composite materials excellent in a strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness, ductility, a thermal expansion coefficient and thermal conductivity of a material, and methods of making the same.SOLUTION: Reinforced metal matrix composite materials include a porous ceramic reinforcement material and a metal matrix in interstitial contact with the ceramic reinforcement material.
