Abstract

To provide a technique for maintaining a recording head in a printable state for a user who has concluded a contract with a service provider.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording head for discharging ink; cleaning means for cleaning the recording head; control means for controlling the cleaning means; and acquisition means capable of acquiring contract information. The control means makes the cleaning means implement first cleaning immediately before executing printing operation according to a printing command, in the case that a predetermined contract has not been concluded based on the contract information acquired by the acquisition means, and makes the cleaning means implement second cleaning with an implementation timing different from that of the first cleaning, in the case that a predetermined contract has been concluded based on the contract information acquired by the acquisition means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
