Abstract

To provide a sizing agent coated carbon fiber bundle exhibiting excellent water dispersibility and having high degree of design freedom such as capable of reducing an amount of a sizing agent to be coated and using various sizing agents even when the sizing agent coated carbon fiber bundle is excellent in handling ability.SOLUTION: A sizing agent coated carbon fiber bundle that satisfies (i)-(iv) below. (i) A sizing agent adhesion amount X is 0.05 mass% or more and 6.00 mass% or less with respect to the carbon fiber bundle to which the sizing agent is applied. (ii) A ratio Y / X of the sizing agent adhesion amount X defined in the above (i) and a sizing agent adhesion amount Y after washing with water for 50 seconds under the conditions described in the specification is 0.70 or less. (iii) An average value of the fluctuation width of a fiber shaft in the single fiber of 30 carbon fibers randomly extracted from the carbon fiber bundle is 9.0 μm or more and 100.0 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
