AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
When glass fibers are added to the resin material of a housing to enhance strength, the exposed ends can wear away the plating layer of a terminal fitting during press-fitting, leading to potential damage.
Method used
The connector design includes a housing with press-fit holes featuring inclined guiding surfaces and stoppers that reduce contact area and guide the terminal fitting, preventing wear by retaining abrasion particles within the housing.
Benefits of technology
This configuration effectively prevents wear on the terminal fitting's outer surface by minimizing contact area and containing abrasion particles, thereby reducing wear-related issues.

Abstract
To prevent occurrence of a defect caused by wear on the outer surface of a terminal fitting or the like when the terminal fitting is press-fitted into a housing.SOLUTION: A connector 10 includes a housing 11 having a press-fitting hole 11C and a terminal fitting 13 to be press-fitted into the press-fitting hole 11C. The terminal fitting 13 has a pair of first surfaces 13J which face opposite sides to each other in an up-down direction, a pair of second surfaces 13K which face opposite sides to each other in a left-right direction, and a pair of stoppers 13F protruding in the left-right direction beyond each of the second surfaces 13K. The press-fitting hole 11C has a pair of first opposing surfaces 11D which face the respective first surfaces 13J, a pair of second opposing surfaces 11E which face the respective second surfaces 13K, and a contact surface 11F with which the stopper 13F can come into contact in a direction from a rear side to a front side. The first opposing surfaces 11D have a pair of first guide surfaces 11J which are sloped so as to spread from a slope front end position Sp to a slope rear end position Ep, and the slope front end position Sp is located forward of the contact surface 11F.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
