Abstract

To provide a balloon for a balloon catheter in which a protrusion is provided on a surface and which can enhance the flexibility in a longitudinal axis direction, and to provide a balloon catheter equipped with the balloon.SOLUTION: There is provided a balloon for a balloon catheter in which a protrusion 21 extending in a longitudinal axis direction is provided in a straight piping section of the balloon, a specific notch 22X is formed in the protrusion 21, the protrusion 21 is divided into a plurality of protrusive segments 24 by the specific notch 22X, a normal vector A on an intersection with a virtual plane H formed from a longitudinal axis direction and a radial direction through an apex 21A of the protrusion 21 extends toward a distal side on one side of the virtual plane H on a distal surface 25 of a protrusive segment 24P adjacent to a proximal side of the specific notch 22X, and a normal vector B on an intersection with the virtual plane H extends toward a proximal side on the other side of the virtual plane H on a proximal surface 26 of a protrusive segment 24D adjacent to a distal side of the specific notch 22X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
