Abstract
To replace a storage controlling unit while suppressing deterioration in performance and redundancy of a storage system.SOLUTION: A storage system includes: a storage drive; and a plurality of storage controlling units for processing data that is input to and output from the storage drive. The storage controlling unit is provided with an interconnect port for communicating with the other storage controlling units, and a communication bandwidth is determined according to a lane number. When replacing a storage controlling unit, a configuration to be moved from a storage controlling unit to be uninstalled to a storage controlling unit to be added is moved from the storage controlling unit to be uninstalled to another storage controlling unit via the interconnect port, and thereafter, the storage controlling unit to be uninstalled is removed. After the removal, the configuration to be moved is moved to the storage controlling unit to be added from the another storage controlling unit via an interconnect port, thereby replacing a storage controlling unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 32C
