AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Garments with inflatable protective devices, such as airbags, face issues with reduced breathability, increased weight, and decreased flexibility due to the large size and material constraints of traditional airbags.

Method used

The use of an elastic inflatable bag within a housing defined by inner and outer surfaces of the garment, allowing the bag to occupy a smaller volume in its static state and expand significantly during inflation, thereby improving breathability and reducing weight.

Benefits of technology

The elastic inflatable bag provides enhanced protection while maintaining improved breathability, reduced weight, and increased comfort for the user, ensuring effective body coverage without compromising safety.

Abstract

To provide a garment with an inflatable protective device having improved air-permeability.SOLUTION: In a garment (1) comprising an inflatable protective device (10) and a housing (2), the inflatable protection device (10) comprises: at least one inflatable bag (12) accommodated in the housing (2) and designed to be switched between a static state as a deflated state and an operation state as an inflated state; and inflation means (14) connected to the at least one inflatable bag (12) and designed to selectively inflate the inflatable bag (12) once started up. The at least one inflatable bag (12) is made of an elastic material and occupies a limited portion of the housing (2) in the static state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1a
