Abstract

To provide an article sorting facility that facilitates efficient transfer of storage containers by a transfer system when a group of stacked containers is brought into a work area by a transfer system.SOLUTION: The article sorting facility includes a conveying system and a control system. When the control system causes the conveying system to execute a batch carrying-in process for carrying storage containers 1 necessary for sorting work included in each of a plurality of batches into a work area A in the order in which the plurality of batches are processed, the control system causes the conveying system to execute a second carrying-in process for carrying a stacked container group 12, some of which are storage containers 1 belonging to the first batch and the rest are storage containers 1 belonging to the second batch, into the work area A between a first carrying-in process for carrying a stacked container group 11, some or all of which are storage containers belonging to the first batch, into the work area A and a third carrying-in process for carrying a stacked container group 13, some or all of which are storage containers 1 belonging to the second batch, into the work area A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
