Abstract

To provide a new stem in which a hinge mechanism provided with quick release-type fixing means is arranged in a handle post, and a new folding bicycle provided with the stem.SOLUTION: A bicycle 1 is provided with a stem 10 which is configured so that a handle post 11 thereof can be folded in response to transfer of a hinge mechanism 14 provided in the handle post 11 from a closed state to an opened state. The hinge mechanism 14 is provided with quick release-type fixing means 15 that determines whether the closed state should be maintained as well as the state should be transferred to the opened state by operating an opening / closing lever 15L. When the closed state of the hinge mechanism 14 is maintained, the opening / closing lever 15L is positioned below the hinge mechanism 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
