To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce entry of sand.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit; a fixing unit that heats a toner image at a nip part to fix the toner image to the recording material, while conveying the recording material; a housing; and an ejection unit that ejects the recording material to the outside of the housing. The housing has a first exterior surface that is provided with an ejection port through which the recording material ejected by the ejection unit passes, and a second exterior surface that faces the opposite side of an ejection direction, and that is provided with an opening communicating the outside of the housing and the inside of the housing. At least part of the ejection port and at least part of the opening are above an upper end position of the nip part in the vertical direction. The image forming apparatus further comprises a filter that is arranged to cover the opening.
