AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When existing driving assistance systems deal with blind spot areas in the vehicle's driving, it is difficult to identify and avoid other vehicles stationed in the blind spot area, resulting in potential collision risks.

Method used

By implementing a series of processing steps in the driving assistance system, including determining the blind spot area, determining the driving direction, obtaining obstacle-related information, and detecting the heat generation status, it is used to evaluate and process possible obstacles to ensure that the vehicle passes through the blind spot area safely.

Benefits of technology

It effectively reduces the risk of collision between vehicles and obstacles in blind spot areas and ensures the safe driving of vehicles.

Abstract

To provide a driving assistance system or the like for reducing a collision risk with an obstacle which is movable to a dead angle area formed in a travel direction of a self vehicle to enable the self vehicle to safely travel in the dead angle area.SOLUTION: A driving assistance system performs: acquiring information related to an obstacle vehicle M2 in a dead angle area and a heat generation state when the obstacle vehicle M2 is detected from another vehicle M3; and providing the acquired information to the driving assistance system. When it is assumed that the obstacle vehicle M2 is present in the dead angle area with the use of the information on the obstacle vehicle M2 acquired via a management server, the driving assistance system executes driving assistance processing with respect to traveling in the dead angle area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
