Abstract

To provide a laminated substrate excellent in fluorescence enhancement characteristic.SOLUTION: The laminated substrate comprises: a plate-shaped substrate having a pair of principal planes reverse to each other; a plurality of metal particles arranged on one principal plane of the substrate by being spaced apart from each other in a direction parallel to the one principal plane; and a protective layer covering the surface of each metal particle. The plurality of metal particles satisfy at least one of (1) and (2) mentioned below, and the surface shape of the protective layer follows the surface shape of the metal particles. (1) The average grain size of the plurality of metal particles is 200-1600 nm, the average height of the plurality of metal particles is 55-500 nm, and the aspect ratio defined by the ratio of the average gain size to the average height is 1-8. (2) Each of the plurality of metal particles is arranged on one principal plane of the substrate in such a manner that the average distance between a metal particle and adjacent other metal particle is 1-1000 nm, and the standard deviation of the average distance is 30 nm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
