Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to the structure of an end grip that is attached to and detached from the rear end of a fishing rod body.

Background Art

[0002] Fishing rods targeting large fish are equipped with an end grip to facilitate the fight with the fish. This end grip is provided at the rear end (the butt of the rod) of the fishing rod body and abuts against the angler's abdomen when the angler performs a pumping motion. The angler pivots the fishing rod body with the end grip as a fulcrum. On the other hand, since this end grip generally hinders the casting operation, conventionally, it has a detachable structure (see, for example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2). The angler removes the end grip to cast, and if a fish hits, the angler attaches the end grip.

Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0004] The end grip needs to be securely fixed to the fishing rod body so that it does not come off during the fight with the fish when attached. On the other hand, it is desirable that the end grip can be easily removed when the angler intends (during casting).

[0005] This invention has been made under such circumstances, and its object is to provide an end grip that can be securely fixed to the fishing rod body and is easy to attach and detach.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0006] (1) To solve the above problems, the end grip of the first aspect of the present invention is an end grip provided at the rear end portion of the fishing rod body, and includes a grip body into which the rear end portion can be inserted along a predetermined direction, and a fixing ring attached to the grip body and movable along the predetermined direction with respect to the grip body. The grip body has elasticity. The fixing ring is formed so as to change the engagement state between the rear end portion and the grip body as it moves.

[0007] According to this configuration, the angler can easily attach the end grip to the fishing rod body by inserting the rear end portion of the fishing rod body into the grip body, that is, covering the grip body over the rear end portion of the fishing rod body. When the fixing ring is operated, the engagement state between the rear end portion and the grip body changes. That is, when the angler moves the fixing ring in a predetermined direction, the grip body elastically deforms, and is firmly fixed to the fishing rod body by the elastic force generated due to this elastic deformation. On the other hand, when the angler moves the fixing ring, the elastic deformation is restored, and the engagement state between the rear end portion and the grip body changes. As a result, the fixing of the grip body to the fishing rod body is released, and the end grip can be easily pulled out from the fishing rod body.

[0008] (2) In the end grip of the second aspect according to the first aspect of the present invention, the grip body has an insertion port into which the rear end portion is inserted, and has a cylindrical portion with different radial wall thicknesses along the predetermined direction, and an end portion provided continuously with the cylindrical portion. The fixing ring is provided so as to surround the cylindrical portion.

[0009] In this configuration, the angler can easily attach the end grip to the fishing rod body by pushing the rear end portion of the fishing rod body into the grip body along a predetermined direction from the insertion opening. Since the fixing ring surrounds the cylindrical portion of the grip body, it clamps the cylindrical portion from the outside by moving. Therefore, the grip body is easily and securely fixed to the fishing rod body.

[0010] (3) In the end grip of the third aspect according to the second aspect of the present invention, it is preferable that the wall thickness of the cylindrical portion on the insertion opening side is set smaller than the wall thickness on the end portion side.

[0011] In this configuration, the angler can fix the grip body to the fishing rod body even more easily just by moving the fixing ring from the end portion side to the insertion opening side. On the other hand, the angler can release the fixing of the grip body even more easily just by moving the fixing ring from the insertion opening side to the end portion side.

[0012] (4) In the end grip of the fourth aspect according to the second or third aspect of the present invention, the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion changes uniformly along the predetermined direction, and the inner diameter of the fixing ring changes uniformly along the predetermined direction corresponding to the change in the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion.

[0013] In this configuration, since the outer shape of the cylindrical portion becomes a predetermined tapered shape, it becomes easier for the angler to operate the fixing ring. Therefore, the fixing and release of the grip body with respect to the fishing rod body become easier.

[0014] (5) In the end grip of the fifth aspect according to any one of the first to fourth aspects of the present invention, a finger hook portion is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the fixing ring.

[0015] In this configuration, the angler can hook a finger on the finger hook portion when operating the fixing ring. Therefore, the operation of the fixing ring becomes easier.

[0016] (6) In the end grip of the sixth side according to any one of the first to fifth sides of the present invention, the grip body has a guiding portion for guiding the movement of the fixed ring.

[0017] In this configuration, since the guiding portion guides the movement of the fixed ring, it becomes easier for the angler to operate the fixed ring.

[0018] (7) In the end grip of the seventh side according to any one of the first to sixth sides of the present invention, the grip body has a holding portion that abuts against and holds the rear end portion.

[0019] In this configuration, since the rear end portion of the fishing rod body is held by the holding portion of the grip body, the end grip is securely attached to the fishing rod body.

[0020] (8) In order to solve the above problems, the fishing rod of the eighth side of the present invention includes a fishing rod body provided with an engaging portion at the rear end portion, and an end grip provided at the rear end portion. The end grip includes a grip body provided with an engaged portion into which the rear end portion can be inserted along a predetermined direction and that engages with the engaging portion, and a fixed ring that is movably attached to the grip body along the predetermined direction and that engages the engaging portion and the engaged portion as it moves.

[0021] According to this configuration, by inserting the rear end portion of the fishing rod body into the grip body along a predetermined direction, the end grip can be easily attached to the fishing rod body. By moving the fixed ring, the engaging portion of the fishing rod body and the engaged portion of the grip body engage with each other. Thereby, the end grip is securely fixed to the fishing rod body. On the other hand, by moving the fixed ring, the engagement between the engaging portion and the engaged portion is released, and the fixing of the grip body to the fishing rod body is released. Thereby, the end grip can be easily pulled out from the fishing rod body.

Embodiments for Carrying Out the Invention

[0023] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with appropriate reference to the drawings. It should be noted that this embodiment is merely one aspect of the fishing rod and the end grip according to the present invention, and it goes without saying that the embodiment may be changed within the scope that does not change the gist of the present invention.

[0024] 1. Outline and Features of the Fishing Rod

[0025] FIG. 1 is an external perspective view of a fishing rod 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0026] The fishing rod 10 has a fishing rod body 11, a reel seat 12 provided at a predetermined position of the fishing rod body 11, a front grip 13, a rear grip 24, and an end grip 14. In the figure, reference numeral 15 indicates the center of the fishing rod 10 (fishing rod body 11), and the direction along this center is the axial direction. In this specification, the direction along the center of the fishing rod 10 is referred to as the axial direction 15. Reference numeral 16 indicates the front side of the axial direction 15, and reference numeral 17 indicates the rear side of the axial direction 15. The direction orthogonal to the axial direction 15 is the radial direction 18 of the fishing rod 10.

[0027] The fishing rod body 11 is composed of a single or a plurality of rod-shaped bodies and is manufactured in a known manner. For example, a sheet (prepreg) impregnated with resin in carbon fiber is cut into a predetermined shape and wound around a mandrel. In this state, a predetermined heat treatment is performed to bake an elongated cylindrical member (the rod-shaped body). In some cases, a single rod-shaped body constitutes the fishing rod body 11, but in other cases, a plurality of rod-shaped bodies are connected by a known joint method to assemble the fishing rod body 11. Note that the fishing rod body 11 may be composed of a solid rod-shaped member. The fishing rod 10 has a plurality of fishing line guides 23, which are provided at predetermined positions on the fishing rod body 11. In the figure, only a part of the plurality of fishing line guides 23 is shown. Since the structure of the fishing line guide 23 is known, a detailed description thereof is omitted.

[0028] The reel seat 12 holds a fishing reel and is fixed to a predetermined position of the fishing rod body 11. The reel seat 12 has a seat body 19, a fixed hood 20, and a movable hood 21. The seat body 19 is a cylindrical member, and the fishing rod body 11 is inserted into the seat body 19 and the two are fixed. At this time, the central axis of the seat body 19 coincides with the axial direction 15. A seat surface 22 is formed on the seat body 19. The legs of the fishing reel are placed on the seat surface 22 and clamped by the fixed hood 20 and the movable hood 21. Note that since the reel seat 12 has a known structure, a detailed description thereof is omitted.

[0029] The front grip 13 and the rear grip 24 are provided on the front side 16 and the rear side 17 of the reel sheet 12, respectively. These are made of resin or rubber and have a cylindrical outer shape. Since the structures of the front grip 13 and the rear grip 24 are known, detailed descriptions thereof are omitted.

[0030] FIG. 2 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the main part in FIG. 1. This figure shows in detail the structure of the rear end portion of the fishing rod 10.

[0031] In the present embodiment, the fishing rod main body 11 includes a gimbal joint 25. The gimbal joint 25 is fixed to the rear end of the fishing rod main body 11 and forms the rear end portion of the fishing rod main body 11. A groove 26 extending in the radial direction 18 (in this figure, the direction perpendicular to the paper surface) is provided on the rear end surface of the gimbal joint 25. Since the structure of this gimbal joint 25 is known, detailed descriptions thereof are omitted. Note that the gimbal joint 25 may be omitted. As shown in this figure, the end grip 14 is detachably attached to the rear end portion of the fishing rod main body 11, that is, the gimbal joint 25.

[0032] FIG. 3 is an external perspective view of the end grip 14, and FIG. 4 is a front view of the end grip 14.

[0033] The feature of the fishing rod 10 according to this embodiment lies in the structure of the end grip 14. As shown in Fig. 4 (without Fig. 2), the end grip 14 includes a grip body 31 and a fixing ring 32. A gimbal joint 25 (i.e., the rear end portion of the fishing rod body 11) is inserted and removed along the axial direction 15 (corresponding to the "predetermined direction" described in the claims) with respect to the grip body 31. The fixing ring 32 can move along the axial direction 15 with respect to the grip body 31. When the angler operates the fixing ring 32 and slides it to the front side 16, the end grip 14 is fixed to the gimbal joint 25. On the other hand, as shown in Fig. 2, when the fixing ring 32 is slid to the rear side 17, the fixing of the end grip 14 is released and the gimbal joint 25 can be inserted and removed with respect to the end grip 14.

[0034] 2. Structure of the end grip

[0035] Fig. 5 is a diagram showing the structure of the grip body 31, where (a) is a front view and (b) is a cross-sectional view.

[0036] The grip body 31 has a cylindrical portion 33 and an end portion 34, which are integrally formed. As shown in Fig. 5(b), the grip body 31 is made of a foamed resin, typically an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). The hardness of this foamed resin is preferably 35 degrees or more and 70 degrees or less in terms of the hardness in the test method of JIS K7312:1996 Spring hardness test type C. The material constituting the grip body 31 is not limited to EVA, and any material having the same degree of elasticity as the above hardness may be used.

[0037] The insertion port 35 is provided in the cylindrical portion 33. This insertion port 35 is provided on the end face of the front side 16 in the axial direction 15 of the cylindrical portion 33. A housing hole 36 is formed continuously with this insertion port 35. As shown in FIG. 2, the gimbal joint 25 is inserted into the housing hole 36 from the insertion port 35. The inner diameters of the insertion port 35 and the housing hole 36 correspond to the outer diameter of the gimbal joint 25, and in the state shown in the figure, the gimbal joint 25 is inserted into the cylindrical portion 33 so as to be insertable and removable without creating a gap. However, a slight gap may be formed between the gimbal joint 25 and the inner wall surface of the housing hole 36. As shown in FIG. 5, the housing hole 36 extends in the axial direction 15. In the present embodiment, the length (depth) 37 of the housing hole 36 corresponds to the length of the gimbal joint 25.

[0038] The outer diameter 39 of the cylindrical portion 33 changes uniformly along the axial direction 15, and the outer shape of the cylindrical portion 33 has a so-called tapered shape. In the present embodiment, a portion 42 having a constant outer diameter 39 is provided on the front side 16 of the cylindrical portion 33. The wall thickness 38 of the cylindrical portion 33 changes uniformly along the axial direction 15. That is, the outer diameter 39 of the cylindrical portion 33 gradually decreases from the front side 16 to the rear side 17 in the axial direction 15, and the wall thickness 38 of the cylindrical portion 33 gradually decreases from the front side 16 in the axial direction 15 (corresponding to the "insertion port side" described in the claims) to the rear side 17 (corresponding to the "end portion side" described in the claims).

[0039] However, the outer diameter 39 of the cylindrical portion 33 does not necessarily change uniformly along the axial direction 15, and it is sufficient that it decreases from the front side 16 to the rear side 17 in the axial direction 15. Also, the portion 42 may be omitted. Similarly, the wall thickness 38 of the cylindrical portion 33 does not necessarily change uniformly along the axial direction 15, and it is sufficient that it decreases from the front side 16 to the rear side 17 in the axial direction 15.

[0040] The end portion 34 is formed continuously on the rear side 17 of the cylindrical portion 33. As shown in FIG. 3, the outer diameter of the end portion 34 is larger than the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion 33 and exhibits a so-called mushroom shape. The corner portion 40 of the end portion 34 is formed of a curved surface. In the fight with a fish, the angler places the end portion 34 against the abdomen and pitches and rolls the fishing rod body 11. The outer shape of the end portion 34 is not particularly limited as long as it fits and abuts against the angler's abdomen. A through hole 41 is provided in the end portion 34. The center of this through hole 41 coincides with the axial direction 15, penetrates the end portion 34, and communicates with the accommodation hole 36 provided in the cylindrical portion 33. This through hole 41 may be omitted.

[0041] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the structure of the fixed ring 32, (a) is a front view, (b) is a cross-sectional view, and is an enlarged view of the main part in FIG. 2.

[0042] The fixed ring 32 is preferably made of a hard material having a certain degree of rigidity. For example, in addition to metal materials such as stainless steel alloy (SUS), aluminum alloy containing aluminum, and titanium alloy containing titanium, it is made of resin or the like. The fixed ring 32 is fitted on the outside of the cylindrical portion 33 and surrounds the cylindrical portion 33. The width 43 of the fixed ring 32 is not particularly limited, but can be set to around 10 mm (5 mm or more and 15 mm or less). The outer diameter 44 of the fixed ring 32 changes uniformly along the axial direction 15, and the outer shape of the fixed ring 32 exhibits a so-called tapered shape.

[0043] Ridges 45 are formed on the outer peripheral surface 47 of the fixed ring 32. In this embodiment, two ridges 45 are arranged side by side along the axial direction 15 and go around the outer peripheral surface 47 of the fixed ring 32. As a result, a groove 46 is formed between them. By providing these ridges 45 and the groove 46 (corresponding to the "finger-hooking portion" described in the claims), the angler can hook a finger when operating the fixed ring 32. The ridges 45 may be omitted, or a plurality of recesses or the like may be provided on the outer peripheral surface 47 as long as the angler can hook a finger.

[0044] The inner diameter 48 of the fixed ring 32 varies uniformly along the axial direction 15, and the inner wall surface 49 of the fixed ring 32 exhibits a so-called tapered shape. In the present embodiment, the taper formed by the inner wall surface 49 of the fixed ring 32 coincides with the taper formed by the cylindrical portion 33 of the grip body 31. However, it is not necessary for both to be identical. As shown in FIG. 6(b), the minimum inner diameter 50 of the fixed ring 32 is larger than the outer diameter of the end portion on the rear side 17 of the cylindrical portion 33 (the boundary portion between the cylindrical portion 33 and the end portion 34). Therefore, in a state where the fixed ring 32 is positioned at the end portion on the rear side 17 of the cylindrical portion 33 (see FIGS. 2 and 4), a gap 51 is formed between the fixed ring 32 and the cylindrical portion 33. The dimension of this gap 51 is not particularly limited, but in the present embodiment, it can be set to around 1.0 mm (0.8 mm or more and 1.2 mm or less). Since the inner diameter of the fixed ring 32 is set as described above, as shown in FIG. 2, the fixed ring 32 can move along the axial direction 15.

[0045] 3. Action and effect of the end grip

[0046] In actual fishing, the end grip 14 is used as follows.

[0047] As shown in FIG. 2, the angler covers the grip body 31 on the rear end portion of the fishing rod body 11 (that is, the gimbal joint 25). At this time, since the outer diameter of the gimbal joint 25 and the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion 33 are set as described above, the angler can easily attach the end grip 14 to the fishing rod body 11. Moreover, in the present embodiment, the end grip 14 can be extremely easily attached by simply inserting the gimbal joint 25 into the accommodation hole 35 from the insertion port 35 of the cylindrical portion 33 of the grip body 31.

[0048] FIG. 7 is a front view of the end grip 14, showing a state where the fixed ring 32 has moved to the front side 16 in the axial direction 15.

[0049] The angler operates the fixed ring 32 and slides it forward to the front side 16 in the axial direction 15. The fixed ring 32 moves from the state shown in FIG. 4 to the state shown in FIG. 7 (from the state shown in FIG. 3(a) to the state shown in FIG. 3(b)). As a result, the engagement state between the gimbal joint 25 and the cylindrical portion 33 changes. That is, when the fixed ring 32 moves forward to the front side 16, the outer diameter 39 of the cylindrical portion 33 becomes relatively larger with respect to the fixed ring 32, and the fixed ring 32 clamps the cylindrical portion 33. Thereby, the cylindrical portion 33 is elastically deformed, and the grip body 31 is securely fixed to the gimbal joint 25. Therefore, in the fight with the fish, it is possible to prevent the end grip 14 from shifting or coming off.

[0050] Also, when the fixed ring 32 moves from the front side 16 to the rear side 17 (moves from the state shown in FIG. 7 to the state shown in FIG. 4 (from the state shown in FIG. 3(b) to the state shown in FIG. 3(a))), the elastic deformation of the cylindrical portion 33 is restored, and the fixing state of the cylindrical portion 33 to the gimbal joint 25 is released. As a result, the end grip 14 can be easily pulled out from the fishing rod body 11. In this way, the angler can very easily change the engagement state between the gimbal joint 25 and the cylindrical portion 33 only by sliding the fixed ring 32.

[0051] In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 5, the wall thickness 38 of the front side 16 of the cylindrical portion 33 is smaller than the wall thickness 38 of the rear side 17. Thereby, the angler can easily move the fixed ring 32 along the axial direction 15, and can more easily fix the grip body 31 to the gimbal joint 25. Similarly, the angler can more easily release the fixing of the grip body 31. In particular, in the present embodiment, since the outer shape of the cylindrical portion 33 has a predetermined tapered shape, it becomes easier for the angler to operate the fixed ring 32.

[0052] In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 6, since the fixed ring 32 is provided with the convex ridges 45 and the grooves 46, as described above, when the angler operates the fixed ring 32, the fingers can be hooked on the convex ridges 45 and the like. Therefore, the operation of the fixed ring 32 becomes easier.

[0053] 4. Regarding Modifications

[0054] FIG. 8 is an external perspective view of the end grip 64 according to the first modification of the present embodiment, and FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along line IV-IV in FIG. 8.

[0055] The difference between the end grip 64 according to this modification and the end grip 14 is that a guide groove 65 is provided in the cylindrical portion 33, and a protrusion 66 is provided on the fixing ring 32, and this protrusion 66 is slidably fitted into the guide groove 65. Note that other structures of the end grip 64 are the same as those of the end grip 14.

[0056] This guide groove 65 is provided on the outer peripheral surface 67 of the cylindrical portion 33 and extends along the axial direction 15. On the other hand, the protrusion 66 protrudes from the inner wall surface 49 (see FIGS. 9 and 6(b)) of the fixing ring 32 and protrudes inward in the radial direction 18. The width dimension and depth of the guide groove 65 are not particularly limited. The outer shape of the protrusion 66 is also not particularly limited, but it is preferably a shape that can be easily fitted into the guide groove 65. In order for the protrusion 66 to slide smoothly with respect to the guide groove 65, the protrusion 66 is preferably a shape that does not contact the bottom surface of the guide groove 65. The length of the guide groove 65 (the length in the axial direction 15) is not particularly limited, but it may extend a predetermined distance forward 16 from the boundary between the cylindrical portion 33 and the end portion 34 so that the fixing ring 32 can be displaced to the states shown in FIGS. 4 and 7 (see FIG. 9).

[0057] In this modification, when the fixing ring 32 is moved by fitting the protrusion 66 and the guide groove 65 (corresponding to the "guiding portion" described in the claims) together, the protrusion 66 is guided by the guide groove 65. Therefore, the operation of the fixing ring 32 becomes easier for the angler.

[0058] FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view of the end grip 74 according to the second modification of the present embodiment.

[0059] The difference between the end grip 74 according to this modification example and the end grip 14 is that a stopper 75 is provided at a predetermined position on the front side 16 of the cylindrical portion 33 (in this embodiment and this modification example, the portion 42 where the outer diameter 39 of the cylindrical portion 33 is constant). Note that, regarding other structures of the end grip 74, they are the same as those of the end grip 14.

[0060] This stopper 75 is in an annular shape and encircles the outer peripheral surface 67 of the cylindrical portion 33. In this modification example, the cross-sectional shape of the stopper 75 is rectangular and it protrudes in the radial direction 18. That is, due to this stopper 75, the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion 33 is locally enlarged. The cross-sectional shape of the stopper 75 is not limited to rectangular, as long as it can locally enlarge the outer diameter of the cylindrical portion 33.

[0061] In this modification example, when the fixed ring 32 slides to the front side 16, it abuts against the stopper 75. Therefore, it is prevented that the fixed ring 32 moves too far to the front side 16. That is, if the fixed ring 32 moves too far to the front side 16, the cylindrical portion 33 may be tightly clamped and in some cases, it is expected that the two will be fixed together, but such inconveniences are prevented. In addition, it is prevented that the fixed ring 32 comes off from the cylindrical portion 33 to the front side 16. Note that the position of the stopper 75 is optimally designed so as to ensure appropriate clamping of the cylindrical portion 33 by the fixed ring 32.

[0062] FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view of an end grip 77 according to a third modification example of this embodiment. The figure shows a state where the end grip 77 is fitted into the rear end portion of the fishing rod body 11, that is, the gimbal joint 25.

[0063] The difference between the end grip 77 according to this modification example and the end grip 14 is that it is provided with a recess 78 that is fitted with the gimbal joint 25. Note that, regarding other structures of the end grip 77, they are the same as those of the end grip 14.

[0064] The rear end portion 79 of the gimbal joint 25 has a reduced diameter. On the other hand, a recess 80 (corresponding to the "holding portion" described in the claims) is provided at the inner bottom portion (the end portion of the rear side 17) of the accommodation hole 36 of the end grip 77. The rear end portion 79 of the gimbal joint 25 is fitted into the recess 80 of the end grip 77, and this recess 80 abuts against and surrounds the rear end portion 79. In this modification, the shape of the rear end portion 79 is formed in a disk shape, and the recess 80 is circular. The rear end portion 79 is held by the end grip 77 by a predetermined holding force (the pressing force generated by fitting the rear end portion 79 into the recess 80) in a state of being fitted into the recess 80.

[0065] In this modification, since the gimbal joint 25 is held by the end grip 77, the end grip 25 is more reliably attached by the fishing rod main body 11. Note that the shapes of the rear end portion 79 and the recess 80 are not particularly limited, as long as the gimbal joint 25 is held by the end grip 77 with a predetermined holding force in a state where the two are fitted together.

[0066] FIG. 12 is a cross-sectional view of a main part of a fishing rod 90 according to a fourth modification of the present embodiment. This figure shows in detail the structure of the rear end portion of the fishing rod 90.

[0067] What the fishing rod 90 according to this modification differs from the fishing rod 10 is that a groove 91 (corresponding to the "engaging portion" described in the claims) is provided in the gimbal joint 25 (that is, the rear end portion of the fishing rod main body 11), and a claw portion 92 (corresponding to the "engaged portion" described in the claims) is formed on the end grip 14. This claw portion 92 is adapted to be fitted into the groove 91 in a state where the gimbal joint 25 is inserted into the end grip 14.

[0068] The groove 91 is provided at the end of the front side 16 of the gimbal joint 25. In the present embodiment, the groove 91 is formed so as to go around the outer peripheral surface 93 of the gimbal joint 25. On the other hand, the claw portion 92 is provided so as to project from the inner wall surface of the accommodation hole 36 provided in the end grip 14. The claw portion 92 is formed in an annular shape and projects inward in the radial direction 18. In this modification, although the groove 91 is provided at the end of the front side 16 of the gimbal joint 25, it may be provided at any position on the outer peripheral surface 93 of the gimbal joint 25. The claw portion 92 is formed at a required position of the cylindrical portion 33 of the end grip 14 in accordance with the position of the groove 91. The shape of the groove 91 (the shape of the inner wall surface) and the outer shape of the claw portion 92 are not particularly limited, as long as they are formed so as to be fitted to each other. For example, instead of the groove 91, a single or a plurality of recesses may be provided, and the claw portion 92 may be a protrusion that fits into this recess.

[0069] In this modification, when the fixed ring 32 slides forward in the axial direction 15 (moves from the state shown in FIG. 4 to the state shown in FIG. 7), as described above, the cylindrical portion 33 of the end grip 14 is tightened by the fixed ring 32, and the claw portion 92 is pushed into the groove 91 and the two are engaged with each other. As a result, the end grip 14 is more securely fixed to the fishing rod main body 11. Further, when the fixed ring 32 is moved to the rear side 17, the tightening is released, so the claw portion 92 is restored from the state of being pushed into the groove 91 to the state of being simply fitted into the groove 91. Even in this state, the end grip 14 is provided on the gimbal joint 25 with a certain holding force, but since the claw portion 92 is simply fitted into the groove 91, the angler can easily pull out the end grip 14 from the fishing rod main body 11.
