Abstract

To improve the update efficiency of firmware of a device possessed by an operation unit of an appliance.SOLUTION: An apparatus for processing information comprises: an update-information acquiring section that acquires for-update firmware for a device the apparatus for processing information possesses and device-configuration information indicative of a necessity / unnecessity to update the firmware for each set of a candidate for a destination of forwarding and the device; a forwarding-information acquiring section that acquires forwarding information indicative of the destination of forwarding; and an update section that, if it is determined based on the device-configuration information that the firmware is required to be updated for the device at the destination of forwarding the forwarding information indicates, executes an update of firmware of the device based on the for-update firmware.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
