[0010] An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In this embodiment, a roller blind equipped with a liftable screen as a shielding material will be described as an example. In this embodiment, the surface facing the room when the roller blind is installed will be referred to as the front, the surface facing the room outside will be referred to as the back, the direction consisting of the front and back will be referred to as the front-to-back direction, and the width direction of the roller blind will be referred to as the left-to-right direction. Furthermore, in this specification and drawings, components having substantially the same functions will be assigned the same reference numerals, and redundant description will be omitted.

[0011] First Embodiment (Overall composition) The overall configuration of the roller blind according to the first embodiment will be described below. Fig. 1 is a front view showing the configuration of the roller blind according to this embodiment.

[0012] As shown in FIG. 1, the roller blind 1 according to this embodiment includes a set frame 2, two side brackets 21, a screen 3, a weight bar 4, and a take-up pipe 22.

[0013] The set frame 2 is formed long in the left-right direction, supports the winding pipe 22 via two side brackets 21, and is fixed to a window frame, wall, etc. by two mounting brackets 25. The two side brackets 21 are provided at both ends of the set frame 2 in the longitudinal direction, respectively.

[0014] The winding pipe 22 is formed in a long cylindrical shape, and two bearings are provided at both ends in the longitudinal direction. The winding pipe 22 is rotatably supported by two side brackets 21 via the two bearings so that its rotation axis faces the left and right directions. A winding spring 221, a brake 222, and a stopper 223 are housed inside the winding pipe 22. The winding spring 221 rotates the winding pipe 22 in the winding direction of the screen 3. The brake 222 slows down the rotation of the winding pipe 22 in the winding direction of the screen 3. The stopper 223 is configured to be switchable between a constrained state in which the rotation of the winding pipe 22 is constrained, and a released state in which the constraint on the rotation of the winding pipe 22 is released.

[0015] The screen 3 is a thin-film member formed into a long, rectangular shape, and one end in the longitudinal direction is connected over substantially the entire length to the winding pipe 22, and the other end in the longitudinal direction is connected over substantially the entire length to the weight bar 4. The weight bar 4 is a member formed to be longer than the width of the screen 3, and is connected to the lower end of the screen 3 to apply tension to the screen 3. A pull cord 5 is attached as an attachment to the weight bar 4 via an adapter device 6, which will be described in detail later.

[0016] The weight bar 4 is formed as a long cylinder with a generally elliptical cross section that defines an internal space. The weight bar 4 is formed with an upper opening 41 and a lower opening 42 that communicate with the internal space over the entire length of the weight bar 4 at two locations corresponding to the major axis of the ellipse (see Figures 4, 5, and 7).

[0017] The specifications of the screen 3 include a standard type in which a screen stopper plate 31 (see FIG. 13) is provided at the lower end of the screen 3, and a washable type (or bag-stitched type) in which the lower end of the screen 3 is formed into a cylindrical shape. When the screen 3 is of the standard type, the screen stopper plate 31 is inserted into the weight bar 4 from the upper opening 41B (see FIG. 13). When the screen 3 is of the washable type, the weight bar 4 is inserted into a bag-shaped portion formed at the lower end of the screen 3 (see FIG. 8). The screen 3 according to this embodiment is of the washable type.

[0018] When connected to the screen 3, the weight bar 4 is adjusted so that the upper opening 41 faces upward and the lower opening 42 faces downward. Therefore, when viewed from the left and right direction, the major axis of the ellipse of the weight bar 4 faces approximately vertically and the minor axis of the ellipse of the weight bar 4 faces in the front-to-rear direction when connected to the screen 3. An adapter device 6 is attached to the rear side of the weight bar 4, and as will be described in detail later, the upper opening 41 is formed so that the rear edge is positioned lower than the front edge.

[0019] The pull cord 5 includes a detachable portion (attached portion) 50, a cord 51, and a grip portion 52. The detachable portion 50 is a pull cord holder configured to be detachably attached to the adapter device 6. The grip portion 52 is formed in a generally rod-like shape so that it can be grasped when the operator of the roller blind 1 pulls down the screen 3. The cord 51 is a string-like member, one end of which is connected to a connection hole 501 (see Figures 4 and 5) of the detachable portion 50, and the other end of which is connected to one end of the grip portion 52.

[0020] (Configuration of the adapter device) The configuration of the adapter device according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the adapter device according to this embodiment. Figs. 3 and 4 are exploded perspective views showing the configuration of the adapter device according to this embodiment as seen from above and below, respectively. Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the adapter device according to this embodiment in an attached state.

[0021] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, adapter device 6 is a device configured so that detachable portion 50 of pull cord 5 can be attached and detached and can be fixed to weight bar 4, and includes holder 60 and fixing member 61.

[0022] The holder 60 has a generally arc-shaped cross section. In other words, when the adapter device 6 is attached to the weight bar 4 as described below, the holder 60 is generally arc-shaped when viewed from the left-right direction, i.e., the longitudinal direction of the weight bar 4. When the adapter device 6 is attached, the holder 60 is a member formed to partially cover the weight bar 4 from one side in the longitudinal direction and partially cover the weight bar 4 along the circumferential direction (see FIG. 7). In this embodiment, the holder 60 is generally arc-shaped, covering more than half of the circumferential direction of the weight bar 4 from the rear side. In the following description, the side facing the weight bar 4 when the adapter device 6 is attached will be referred to as the "inside" of the holder 60, and the opposite side will be referred to as the "outside" of the holder 60. Furthermore, the direction facing the longitudinal direction of the weight bar 4 when the adapter device 6 is attached will be referred to as the "width direction" of the holder 60.

[0023] The fixing member 61 has a first piece 61A extending in one direction and a second piece 61B extending in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the first piece 61A (see FIGS. 3 and 4). The fixing member 61 is formed by the first piece 61A and the second piece 61B to have a generally L-shaped cross section. In other words, when the adapter device 6 is in an attached state, the fixing member 61 is generally L-shaped when viewed from the longitudinal direction of the weight bar 4. In the following description, the side where the extension directions of the first piece 61A and the second piece 61B intersect to form an interior angle is referred to as the inside of the fixing member 61, and the side where the extension direction forms an exterior angle is referred to as the outside of the fixing member 61. Furthermore, the direction facing the longitudinal direction of the weight bar 4 when the adapter device 6 is in an attached state is referred to as the width direction of the fixing member 61.

[0024] The fixing member 61 is attached to the holder 60 with the holder 60 covering the back side of the weight bar 4, and is formed so that it can cooperate with the holder 60 to fix the adapter device 6 to the weight bar 4. The fixing member 61 is formed so that its widthwise length, particularly the widthwise lengths of the first piece 61A and the second piece 61B, are shorter than the widthwise length of the holder 60.

[0025] (Configuration of fixing member) The configuration of the fixing member according to the first embodiment will be described in more detail.

[0026] As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the fixing member 61 is formed with two guided portions 611, an operating portion 612, an engaging portion 613, and a lower locking portion 614.

[0027] The two guided portions 611 are formed on the first piece 61A. Each of the two guided portions 611 is a substantially plate-shaped member that protrudes in the width direction from the first piece 61A over a predetermined distance in the extension direction of the first piece 61A. Specifically, one of the two guided portions 611 protrudes to one side in the width direction, and the other protrudes to the other side in the width direction.

[0028] The operating portion 612 is a portion on the tip side of the first piece 61A that is formed to be flexible. Specifically, the operating portion 612 is a portion of the first piece 61A that is not connected to the two guided portions 611 and is formed to be thinner than the other portions. The engaging portion 613 is formed on the first piece 61A so as to be located between the two guided portions 611 in the width direction of the fixing member 61. The engaging portion 613 is formed on the inside of the operating portion 612 near the tip end across the width direction. The shape of the engaging portion 613 will be described in detail later.

[0029] The lower locking portion 614 is formed on the inside near the tip of the second piece 61B. The lower locking portion 614 is formed to protrude across the entire width in the extension direction of the first piece 61A. The lower locking portion 614 is formed so as to be inserted into the weight bar 4 through the lower opening 42 of the weight bar 4 when the fixing member 61 is attached to the holder 60.

[0030] (Holder configuration) The configuration of the holder according to the first embodiment will be described in more detail.

[0031] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the holder 60 is formed with an upper locking portion 601, an opening 602, a detachable portion 603, a group of engaged portions 604, two guide portions 605, and a locking claw 609.

[0032] The upper locking portion 601 is a protrusion formed on the inside of one end of the arc formed by the holder 60. When the adapter device 6 is in an attached state, as will be described later, the upper locking portion 601 is inserted into the upper opening 41 of the weight bar 4, and at this time, protrudes from the inside of the holder 60 so as to face substantially forward (see Figure 7). The upper locking portion 601 cooperates with the lower locking portion 614 of the fixing member 61 to prevent the adapter device 6 from moving relative to the weight bar 4, thereby fixing the adapter device 6 to the weight bar 4. In addition, the upper locking portion 601 is formed with a convex portion 601P that protrudes downward.

[0033] The opening 602 is a through-hole that connects the inside and outside of the holder 60. The opening 602 is formed at a position biased toward the end of the arc of the holder 60 opposite the side where the upper locking portion 601 is formed. The opening 602 is formed so that the second piece 61B of the fixing member 61 can be inserted from the outside of the holder 60 when the adapter device 6 is in an attached state, and further so that the lower locking portion 614 formed on the second piece 61B can protrude upward from the inside of the holder 60.

[0034] The detachable portion 603 is formed on the outside of the holder 60 at the end of the arc formed by the holder 60 opposite to the side where the upper locking portion 601 is formed. The detachable portion 603 has a recess formed across the entire width of the holder 60, and two slide grooves that sandwich this recess from a direction perpendicular to the width direction. The detachable portion 50 is formed so as to be movable only in the width direction of the holder 60 relative to the detachable portion 603.

[0035] The locking claw 609 is formed at one widthwise end of the holder 60 in the recess of the detachable portion 603. When the detachable portion 50 is inserted from the other widthwise end of the holder 60 in the recess of the detachable portion 603 and one end of the detachable portion 50 reaches one widthwise end of the holder 60, the locking claw 609 locks the detachable portion 50 so that it cannot move in the width direction of the holder 60. When the detachable portion 50 is pressed down by the operator, the locking claw 609 releases the lock on the detachable portion 50. When the detachable portion 50 is locked to the holder 60 as shown in FIG. 5 , the detachable portion 50 restricts the fixing member 61 from moving downward more than a predetermined amount, thereby preventing the fixing member 61 from coming off the holder 60 even if the operating portion 612 is inadvertently operated.

[0036] The two guide portions 605 are formed on the outside of the holder 60 so as to be positioned between the upper locking portion 601 and the detachable portion 603 in the arc of the holder 60. One of the two guide portions 605 is formed at one widthwise end of the holder 60, and the other is formed at the other widthwise end of the holder 60. The two guide portions 605 are each a plate-like member that protrudes inward in the widthwise direction from the widthwise end of the holder 60 and is spaced a predetermined distance from the outer surface of the holder 60.

[0037] The two guided portions 611 of the fixing member 61 are inserted into the gap formed between the outer surface of the holder 60 and the two guide portions 605 from the side where the detachable portion 603 is formed, thereby guiding the fixing member 61 so that it moves only in one direction relative to the holder 60 (see FIG. 6). Here, when the upper locking portion 601 is inserted into the upper opening 41 of the weight bar 4 and the lower opening 42 of the weight bar 4 is covered by the holder 60, the fixing member 61 is guided by the two guide portions 605 so that it can move only in approximately the vertical direction.

[0038] The group of engaged portions 604, like the two guide portions 605, is formed on the outside of the holder 60 so as to be positioned between the upper locking portion 601 and the detachable portion 603 in the arc of the holder 60. The group of engaged portions 604 is formed so as to be positioned between the two guide portions 605 in the width direction of the holder 60. The group of engaged portions 604 includes a plurality of engaged portions formed to engage with the engaging portions 613 of the fixing member 61. These multiple engaged portions are formed so as to be aligned substantially vertically when the upper locking portion 601 is inserted into the upper opening 41 of the weight bar 4 and the lower opening 42 of the weight bar 4 is covered by the holder 60. The shape of each of the multiple engaged portions will be described in detail later.

[0039] (How to install / adjust the adapter device) An attachment / adjustment method for the adapter device according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 6 is an enlarged perspective view of a main part of the adapter device according to this embodiment. Fig. 7 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in Fig. 1 in an operating state. Fig. 8 is a cross-sectional view showing the adapter device according to this embodiment in an attached state to a weight bar connected to a screen.

[0040] When attaching the adapter device 6, the worker first positions the holder 60 relative to the weight bar 4 so that it covers more than half of the circumference of the weight bar 4 from the back side. At this time, the upper locking portion 601 of the holder 60 is inserted into the upper opening 41 of the weight bar 4, locking the holder 60 so that it does not move downward relative to the weight bar 4. The holder 60 also covers the lower opening 42 of the weight bar 4 over the entire width of the holder 60, except for the area where the opening 602 is formed.

[0041] Next, the worker performs an attachment / adjustment operation to attach the fixing member 61 to the holder 60 while adjusting the fixing force of the adapter device 6 to the weight bar 4. In this attachment / adjustment operation, the worker inserts the guided portion 611 of the fixing member 61 from below into the gap formed by the two guide portions 605 of the holder 60. In this state, when the worker pushes the fixing member 61 further upward, the engaging portion 613 of the fixing member 61 abuts against the lowest engaged portion of the multiple engaged portions in the group of engaged portions 604.

[0042] Here, the shapes of the engaging portion 613 and the group of engaged portions 604 will be described. As shown in Fig. 7, the engaging portion 613 is a protruding portion that protrudes toward the holder 60 side, and has an engaging surface on the lower side that is approximately perpendicular to the front-to-rear direction, and an inclined surface on the upper side that slopes downward toward the holder 60 side. Each of the multiple engaged portions of the group of engaged portions 604 has an engaging surface on the upper side that is approximately perpendicular to the front-to-rear direction, and an inclined surface on the lower side that slopes upward toward the fixing member 61 side.

[0043] In this way, when the fixing member 61 moves up and down relative to the holder 60, the engaging portion 613 and the group of engaged portions 604 are formed so that the engaging surfaces of the engaging portion 613 and any of the engaged portions, or the inclined surfaces of the engaging portion 613 and any of the engaged portions, face each other in the up and down direction. This allows the fixing member 61 to move upward relative to the holder 60, and restricts the fixing member 61 from moving downward relative to the holder 60, as will be described later.

[0044] When the engaging portion 613 abuts against the lowest engaged portion, the inclined surface of the engaging portion 613 abuts against the inclined surface of the lowest engaged portion. When the operator pushes the fixing member 61 further upward, the inclined surface of the engaging portion 613 slides against the inclined surface of the lowest engaged portion, and the operating portion 612 on which the engaging portion 613 is formed elastically deforms in a direction away from the holder 60, causing the engaging portion 613 to climb over the lowest engaged portion. As a result, the engaging surface of the engaging portion 613 faces the engaging surface of the lowest engaged portion, and downward movement of the fixing member 61 relative to the holder 60 is restricted.

[0045] In this way, by the worker pushing the fixing member 61 upward from below so that the engaging portion 613 sequentially overcomes multiple engaged portions from below, the lower locking portion 614, which is inserted into the inside of the weight bar 4 from the lower opening 42 of the weight bar 4, can be positioned higher.

[0046] 6 and 7, the operator can elastically deform the operating portion 612 so as to move it away from the holder 60, thereby bringing about a release state in which the engagement portion 613 and the group of engaged portions 604 are released from each other. In the release state, the operator can press the fixing member 61 downward to position the lower locking portion 614 further downward, and also remove the fixing member 61 from the holder 60.

[0047] In this way, the adapter device 6 according to this embodiment makes it possible to adjust the position of the lower locking portion 614, which cooperates with the upper locking portion 601 to restrict movement of the adapter device 6 relative to the weight bar 4, in the vertical direction. In other words, the adapter device 6 makes it possible to adjust the distance between the upper locking portion 601 and the lower locking portion 614. Furthermore, by making the weight bar 4 larger in the vertical direction than in the front-to-rear direction, the range of movement of the fixing member 61 can be increased.

[0048] As shown in FIG. 8 , the lower end of the washable screen 3 is folded upward and sewn at a predetermined vertical position on the screen 3 to form a bag-like portion large enough to allow the weight bar 4 to pass through. The size of the bag-like portion of the screen 3, specifically the position where the lower end is sewn, corresponds to the type of weight bar 4. When the weight bar 4 is inserted into the bag-like portion, tension creates two straight lines on the front and rear sides of the upper end of the bag-like portion when viewed from the side. The upper opening 41 is formed so that its rear edge is located near the point of contact between the straight line on the rear side and an imaginary curved surface on the upper rear side of the weight bar 4 if the cross section of the weight bar 4 were an ellipse without the upper opening 41. When the adapter device 6 is attached to the weight bar 4 inserted through the bag-shaped portion, a portion of the screen 3 is pushed into the upper opening 41 by the upper locking portion 601, and a portion of the screen 3 is pushed into the lower opening 42 by the lower locking portion 614. At this time, the tip of the convex portion 601P of the upper locking portion 601 is positioned lower than the rear edge of the upper opening 41, and the bag-shaped portion is locked at the contact point described above. This makes it difficult for tension that could cause the screen to crease or wrinkle in the bag-shaped portion to be generated, and allows the screen 3 to be locked at its uppermost position, preventing the bag-shaped portion from shifting circumferentially around the weight bar 4 when the adapter device 6 is fixed. Furthermore, because the vertical position of the fixing member 61 is adjustable, the adapter device 6 can be appropriately fixed to the weight bar 4 depending on the rigidity and thickness of the screen 3. Another advantage is that the holder 60 is positioned to cover the back side (outside the room) of the weight bar 4, so the design of the front side (inside the room) is not impaired when the adapter device 6 is installed. Two rotation restriction members 80 are attached to both left and right ends of the weight bar 4, protruding upward from the upper opening 41, thereby restricting the rotation of the weight bar 4 within the bag-shaped portion.

[0049] Second Embodiment An adapter device according to a second embodiment will now be described. Figures 9 and 10 are an exploded perspective view and a perspective view, respectively, showing the configuration of the adapter device according to this embodiment.

[0050] As shown in Figures 9 and 10, the adapter device 6A according to this embodiment differs from the adapter device 6 according to the first embodiment in that it includes a holder 60A instead of the holder 60, so that the attachment is positioned and attached to the rear side. In this embodiment, a magnet holder incorporating a magnet and two detachable attachment / detachment sections (attachment sections) 70, 90 configured as fitting members formed in a substantially plate shape are attached to the adapter device 6A. The magnet holder cooperates with a fixedly installed magnet receiver (not shown) to position the weight bar 4 at a desired position.

[0051] Holder 60A differs from holder 60 in that it further includes a detachable portion 603A and a locking claw 609A. Detachable portion 603A differs from detachable portion 603 in that it is formed across two guide portions 605. Furthermore, locking claw 609A differs from locking claw 609 in that it is formed on one of the guide portions 605.

[0052] The detachable portion 603A has a recess formed in each of the two guide portions 605 across the entire width of the guide portion 605, and two slide grooves that sandwich the recess from a direction perpendicular to the width direction. The detachable portion 70 is formed so as to be movable only in the width direction of the holder 60A relative to the detachable portion 603A.

[0053] The locking claw 609A is formed at one end on the widthwise outer side of one of the two guide portions 605 in which the detachable portion 603A is formed. When the detachable portion 70 is inserted from one widthwise end of the holder 60A into the recess of the detachable portion 603A and one end of the detachable portion 70 reaches the other widthwise end of the holder 60A, the locking claw 609A locks the detachable portion 70 so that it cannot move in the width direction of the holder 60A. When the detachable portion 70 is pressed down by the operator, the locking claw 609A releases the locking of the detachable portion 70 to the detachable portion 70. Furthermore, when the detachable portion 70 is locked to the holder 60A as shown in FIG. 10 , the operating portion 612 of the fixing member 61 cannot be elastically deformed so as to move away from the holder 60A, thereby preventing the fixing member 61 from accidentally coming off the holder 60A.

[0054] In this way, with the adapter device 6A according to this embodiment, it is possible to attach the detachable part 70 to the detachable part 603A, and also to attach the detachable part 90 to the detachable part 603, without impairing the design. Similarly, with the adapter device 6A according to this embodiment, it is possible to attach the detachable part 70 to the detachable part 603, and also to attach the detachable part 90 to the detachable part 603A.

[0055] Third Embodiment An adapter device according to a third embodiment will now be described. Fig. 11 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the adapter device according to this embodiment. Fig. 12 is a cross-sectional view showing the adapter device according to this embodiment in an attached state. Fig. 13 is a cross-sectional view showing the adapter device according to this embodiment in an attached state to a weight bar connected to a screen. Note that Figs. 12 and 13 show cross sections of the adapter device cut in the same manner as the adapter device shown in Fig. 7.

[0056] 11 and 12, the adapter device 6B according to this embodiment differs from the adapter device 6 according to the first embodiment in that it is configured to be fixed to a weight bar 4B. The weight bar 4B differs from the weight bar 4 in that an upper opening 41B is formed instead of the upper opening 41. The upper opening 41B differs from the upper opening 41 in that the rear edge is formed at approximately the same position in the up-down direction as the front edge.

[0057] The adapter device 6B differs from the adapter device 6 in that it includes a holder 60B instead of the holder 60. The holder 60B differs from the holder 60 in that it is formed in a generally arc shape that extends more circumferentially than the holder 60 in a side view so as to cover the back surface of the weight bar 4B, the rear edge of which is formed higher up in the upper opening 41B. The holder 60B also differs from the holder 60 in that it includes an upper locking portion 601B instead of the upper locking portion 601. The upper locking portion 601B differs from the upper locking portion 601 in that, when the adapter device 6B is attached and inserted into the upper opening 41B, the upper locking portion 601B protrudes from the inside of the holder 60B so as to face generally downward, and in that it does not include a protrusion 601P.

[0058] The screen 3 according to this embodiment is a standard type. The adapter device 6B according to this embodiment allows the screen 3 to be more firmly fixed to the weight bar 4B, which has an upper opening 41B formed therein and is suitable for connecting the screen stopper plate 31 provided at the lower end of the screen 3, as shown in Fig. 13 .
