Abstract

To enable adjusting luminance of a display unit, more adapting to an installation situation of medical instruments.SOLUTION: A medical instrument (10) comprises: an illuminance sensor (16) that detects illuminance of surroundings; a display unit (151) that displays images; and a control unit (11) that controls luminance of the display unit (151) on the basis of the illuminance the illuminance sensor (16) detects. The control unit (11) is configured to: acquire position information indicative of a position of the medical instrument (10); determine luminance control information for controlling the illuminance of the display unit on the basis of the illuminance on the basis of the position information; determine the luminance of the display unit (151) on the basis of the determined luminance control information, and the illuminance detected by the illuminance sensor (16); and set the luminance of the display unit (151) to the determined luminance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
