Microtome with automated adjustment and method therefor

Abstract

To improve the alignment of a knife relative to a sample of a microtome or a sample holder.SOLUTION: A first aspect of the present disclosure relates to a microtome. The microtome includes: one or more motor drive units for moving a sample and for moving a knife; and a user interface. The microtome is configured to detect a position of the sample, detect a position of the knife, obtain adjustment information about the sample, obtain adjustment information about the knife, and adjust the microtome based on the detected position of the sample, the detected position of the knife, the adjustment information about the sample, the adjustment information about the knife, and a command from the user interface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
