AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When air conditioners using non-azeotropic refrigerant mixtures operate at low load, the pressure difference between the condenser and evaporator outlets becomes small, reducing heat exchange and leading to changes in the circulating composition ratio of the refrigerant mixture, which affects proper control and user comfort.

Method used

A refrigeration cycle device with an intermediate heat exchanger and a control system that adjusts fan rotation speeds based on operating conditions to maintain the circulating composition ratio of the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture, ensuring sufficient heat exchange and suction superheat.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively suppresses changes in the circulating composition ratio of the refrigerant mixture, maintaining efficient operation and user comfort even under low load conditions.

Abstract

To inhibit the circulation composition ratio of a non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture from causing a change even when the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture is used as a refrigerant and operation is performed under low load conditions.SOLUTION: A refrigeration cycle apparatus comprises: a refrigerant circuit in which a compressor 1, a condenser 4, pressure reducing means 3, and an evaporator 2 are connected in sequence by refrigerant piping, and in which a non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture is circulated; an intermediate heat exchanger 6 in which the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture flowing between the condenser 4 and the pressure reducing means 3 exchanges heat with the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture flowing between the evaporator 2 and the compressor 1; a condenser fan 41; an evaporator fan 21; and a control device 9. The control device 9 comprises a determination unit 93 for determining an operation state with respect to a first condition for determining whether or not low load operation occurs and a second condition for determining whether or not a condition for causing a change in the circulation composition ratio of the non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture is satisfied; and a drive control unit 94 for controlling the evaporator fan 21 to increase its rotation speed when the determination unit 93 determines that the first condition and the second condition are satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
