Abstract

To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus capable of suppressing ink consumption when discharging air bubbles.SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus includes a first ejecting unit that ejects liquid in accordance with driving, a second ejecting unit that ejects liquid in accordance with driving, a first sealing unit that performs sealing so that liquid is not ejected from the first ejecting unit, a second sealing unit that performs sealing so that liquid is not ejected from the second ejecting unit, a common liquid chamber that supplies liquid to a plurality of ejecting units including the first ejecting unit and the second ejecting unit, and an ejecting unit state determination circuit that determines a state of the first ejecting unit or the second ejecting unit from a residual vibration signal generated in accordance with driving of the first ejecting unit or the second ejecting unit, wherein, in the ejecting unit state determination circuit, in a case where it is determined that air bubbles are mixed in the first ejecting unit and the air bubbles are not mixed in the second ejecting unit, the first ejecting unit is not sealed by the first sealing unit, the second ejecting unit is sealed by the second sealing unit, and the air bubbles are discharged to the outside of the first ejecting unit by driving the first ejecting unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
