Abstract
To provide a vehicle battery current sensing system capable of non-invasively measuring both DC and AC currents over a wide range with high resolution.SOLUTION: A current sensing system is provided, comprising at least one magnetic tunnel junction device 102 disposed adjacent to a current-carrying conductor 110 electrically connected to a battery of a vehicle. The magnetic tunnel junction device 102 is configured to measure a magnetic field 108 around the conductor 110. A monitoring device is operatively connected to the magnetic tunnel junction device and is configured to receive the magnetic field measurement and determine an estimate of the current flowing through the conductor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
