To prevent detachment of a belt from a pre-wound pulley when an expansible belt is attached between four or more pulleys.SOLUTION: A belt attachment method includes: a step of passing a V-ribbed belt 5 expansible in a peripheral direction through a space 83 in a peripheral part 82 from an opening 81 of an auxiliary jig 8 disposed on a line of travel L of the V-ribbed belt 5 between a crank pulley 1 and an air-conditioner compressor pulley 2 when winding the V-ribbed belt 5 onto an accessory drive unit 10; a step of attaching an attachment jig 7 to the crank pulley 1; a step of temporarily winding the V-ribbed belt 5 on the crank pulley 1 along a winding part 72 between an outer periphery of the crank pulley 1 and a pressing part 71; and a step of rotating the crank pulley 1 with the V-ribbed belt 5 wound on the air-conditioner compressor pulley 2, an alternator pulley 3, and a water pump pulley 4, and the V-ribbed belt 5 temporarily wound on the crank pulley 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
