Surgical apparel system and method of use

Abstract

To prevent exchange and / or transfer of particles or foreign matters during a medical procedure or examination, by maintaining a reliable barrier between a healthcare provider and a patient.SOLUTION: There is provided a surgical apparel system 10 including a surgical garment 12 and a surgical helmet 20. The helmet includes a chin bar having a recess in a distal surface thereof, and a coupling member 48 disposed within the recess and positioned adjacently to the distal surface of the chin bar. The surgical garment includes a transparent face shield 18 and an attachment element 58 coupled to the transparent face shield. The attachment element includes a head having a proximal surface configured to releasably engage the coupling member of the helmet. When the attachment element engages the coupling member, a portion of the head is positioned adjacently to the distal surface of the chin bar.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
