Abstract

To provide a positioning device exhibiting high positioning accuracy in each axial direction of an X-axis, a Y-axis, and a Z-axis without requiring large force at the time of attachment and detachment.SOLUTION: A positioning device includes a convex body and a concave body that can be attached / detached. The convex body has: a post having a Z-axis direction as an axis line; and a fixing section having an end face extending in each axial direction of an X-axis and a Y-axis and protrusively provided with the post. The concave body has: a cylindrical body having the Z-axis direction as an axis line and an insertion hole externally fitted to the post; and a flange section having an end face extending in each axial direction of the X-axis and the Y-axis. The positioning device includes: a retainer for retaining a plurality of rolling elements arranged between the post and the insertion hole of the cylindrical body in a circumferential direction; biasing means for biasing the retainer along the Z-axis direction; and clamp means for retaining a state that the convex body and the concave body are united. An outer peripheral surface of the post and an inner peripheral surface of the insertion hole of the cylindrical body are pressed by the rolling elements in a state that the post is inserted into the insertion hole of the cylindrical body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
