Abstract

To provide a deployment mechanism and a deployment device capable of suppressing a bistable boom from bending during or after deployment.SOLUTION: A deployment mechanism 100 comprises a pair of elongated bistable booms 110 that can be stably held in two forms: of a deployed form in which the booms extend linearly in a deployment direction and are held such that a cross-sectional shape in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the deployment direction is curved in an open cross-sectional shape; and a wound form in which the cross-sectional shape extends linearly in the orthogonal direction and the booms are wound while being curved in the deployment direction. The pair of bistable booms 110 are arranged such that opened portions 111 in the open cross-sectional shape face each other in the opposite directions, and are configured to extend while maintaining a state in which surfaces opposite to the opened portions 111 contact each other, and are connected near a tip end in the deployment direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
