Abstract

To provide a manual drive device for a passenger conveyor and a passenger conveyor that can improve safety.SOLUTION: A manual drive device 60 includes a manual turn handle 8 that can be operated by an operator, a rotating member 40, and an attachment key 32. The rotating member 40 transmits a rotational force generated when the manual turn handle 8 is operated to a rotating body 23 of a drive mechanism. The attachment key 32 detachably attaches the rotating member 40 to the rotating body 23 of the drive mechanism. The attachment key 32 is also an operating piece that activates a safety device 30 provided in the drive mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
