Abstract

To provide a dental handpiece which prevents air from the inside of a head from leaking along a cutting tool.SOLUTION: A dental handpiece 1 includes a body to be held by a user, and a head 2 provided at a distal end of the body. The body includes a supply tube for supplying air to the head. The head includes a housing, a holding part which is arranged inside the housing and holds and rotates a cutting tool, and a projecting part 40 which projects from a specific surface corresponding to the bottom on the inner diameter side of the housing through which the cutting tool passes and in which an opening part 41 for inserting the cutting tool into the holding part is formed. The projecting part is provided at a specific position closer to the tip of the cutting tool than the specific surface, and has at least one discharge path 48 for receiving the air supplied from the supply tube at the specific position, guiding the air to the outer peripheral side of the head, and discharging the air to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
