Abstract

To provide a dental handpiece which prevents suck-back by suppressing a decrease in torque of a cutting tool rotated by a rotor.SOLUTION: A dental handpiece 1 includes a body to be held by a user, and a head 2 provided at a distal end of the body. The head includes a housing, a rotor provided rotatably inside the housing, and a holder that holds the cutting tool and rotates a cutting tool following the rotation of the rotor. The housing includes an air supply port that supplies air supplied from the supply pipe to the inside so that the rotor rotates in a specific direction, an exhaust port 32 that is disposed on a side closer to a tip of the cutting tool than the air supply port in a direction along a rotation axis of the cutting tool and discharges the air from the inside, a diffuser part 35 that changes a flow direction of a part of the air supplied from the air supply port and applies the part of the air to the rotor in a direction opposite to the specific direction, and an air reservoir part 34 that communicates with the exhaust port and retains the part of the air supplied from the air supply port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
