Abstract

To simply adjust a basis weight of a woven fabric such as braiding.SOLUTION: A method for adjusting a basis weight of a woven fabric, includes: a step of placing a woven fabric composed of fibers having two or more orientation axes on a stage (step 1); a step of fixing a vicinity of a portion where the basis weight is to be reduced in the woven fabric with respect to a fiber of a target orientation axis of the woven fabric placed on the stage (step 2); a step of pulling out the fiber of the target orientation axis using a jig to form a loop on the woven fabric (step 3); a step of enlarging the loop to further pull out one end of the fiber on a side opposite to the fixed side to release the fiber from the constraints of other fibers composing the woven fabric (step 4); and cutting the fiber that has been released from their constraints (step 5).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
