Liposome cannabinoid and use of the same

Abstract

To provide a sustained release formulation of cannabinoid for administration by injection or infusion which includes a physiologically acceptable carrier holding a liposome.SOLUTION: A sustained release formulation has a lipid membrane and a liposome aqueous core, and contains captured cannabinoid and at least two dispersants of the cannabinoid, where at least one of the dispersants is selected from cyclodextrin, serum protein, polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol (PG), N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMA), ethanol, Tween(R) 80 (polyoxyethylene 20 sorbitan monooleate) and Cremophor(R) (propane-1,2,3-triol: oxirane (1:1)), and a mole ratio between the cannabinoid in the lipid membrane and lipid forming the liposome is within the range of 1 to 10.SELECTED DRAWING: None
