Abstract

To provide a method for producing tetrahydrofuran, gamma-butyrolactone, or 1,4-butanediol.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of subjecting polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) to a hydrogenation reaction using a copper-based catalyst in an aprotic solvent, whereby the yield of tetrahydrofuran, gamma-butyrolactone, or 1,4-butanediol, which is environmentally friendly due to excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility, can be effectively controlled without complicated additional processes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
