Abstract

To provide a technology capable of improving both work efficiency and safety when charging a battery.SOLUTION: A hydraulic excavator as a work machine includes a battery that stores electric power, a connector to which a charging cable used to charge the battery is connected, and an electric motor that is driven by power supplied from the battery. The control method for the hydraulic excavator includes detecting the connection state between the charging cable and the connector, and, when the electric motor is in a rotatable state, executing a suppression process that allows but suppresses operation of the hydraulic excavator based on the connection state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
