Abstract

To provide an elevator system capable of safely operating an elevator while guaranteeing reliability even when a pit of a hoistway is flooded.SOLUTION: This elevator system comprises: a flooding sensor that detects a flooding state of a pit of a hoistway lower part of an elevator; a first detection device that is disposed above the pit to detect a first signal corresponding to a rotation amount of a motor of a hoist for lifting a car; a second detection device that detects a second signal synchronized with the vertical movement of the car; an abnormality detection device that is disposed with at least a part lower than the height of the flooding state in the pit to detect an abnormality of the second detection device; and a control device that executes car movement control using the second signal when the flooding sensor does not detect the flooding state, and executes the car movement control using the first signal when the flooding sensor detects the flooding state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
