Abstract

It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved system for digitally depositing material in a manner that is much faster than the best dispensing systems. In a system for printing viscous materials, the printing and post-processing of the viscous material are performed in an alternating sequence. In a first step, the viscous material is printed on a sample placed on a receiving substrate using a donor module and a laser scanner, and then the donor module is replaced with a post-processing system to perform a post-processing operation (or vice versa). Multiple post-processing operations can be performed and multiple different materials can be printed on the same layer. The system allows for improved speed, resolution and variety of materials printed on the same sample, opening up new design possibilities.
