Screw-on paper lid for containers

Abstract

The present invention relates to a paper lid (3). The paper lid (3) comprises a central lid panel (7, 31) and a mating flange (5). The mating flange (5) is adapted to be placed in a receptacle (2) of a container (1). The mating flange (5) is made of a paper material, and the mating flange (5) forms a radially outer side (9) of the paper lid (3). A groove (11) is formed on the radially outer side (9) of the mating flange (5), and the groove (11) forms a thread (13) on a radially inner side (15) of the mating flange (5). The thread (13) is made of a paper material. The present invention further provides a container, a stack of at least two containers, and a method for manufacturing the lid.
