Abstract

A lighting device 10 is provided. The lighting device 10 has a light-emitting element 11 and a translucent envelope 20 that surrounds the light-emitting element 11 and has a surface area that is at least three times larger than the light-emitting area of the light-emitting element 11. The envelope 20 is coated with a phosphor layer 22 having a thickness of 0.05 to 1.0 mm, and the phosphor layer 22 is configured to block less than 30% of the visible light emitted by the light-emitting element 11.
