Abstract

The new LC media exhibit a ferroelectric nematic phase at ambient temperature. They contain at least one compound represented by formula IA having at least 5 rings, wherein the variable groups have the meanings indicated in the text and in the claims. The mixtures are useful for electro-optical, electronic, electromechanical, and other applications for materials with very high dielectric constants.
