Abstract

According to various aspects, the present invention provides a method for delivering multiple sample solutions to a sensor surface for analysis. Additionally or alternatively, the present invention can provide systems and methods for enabling improved interrogation of analyte behavior. The sensor may be used, for example, to determine the kinetic binding characteristics of an analyte (such as a protein) to a surface-bound ligand. In one aspect, the method comprises: a) introducing a first sample solution into a first channel, the first channel configured to deliver the sample solution to the sensor surface; b) introducing a second sample solution into the first channel; c) flowing the first and second sample solutions through the first channel and over the sensor surface; and d) detecting binding or absence of analyte from at least one of the sample solutions at the sensor surface, wherein no running buffer solution is passed over the sensor surface throughout steps a) through d).
