Abstract

The present invention relates to a polarizing film, a manufacturing method thereof, a light guide lens, and a display device. The polarizing film includes a transparent substrate, a dielectric diffraction grating disposed on the transparent substrate, the dielectric diffraction grating having periodically spaced ridges and grooves, and a metal layer covering the top and side surfaces of the ridges of the dielectric diffraction grating and exposing at least a portion of the bottom surfaces of the grooves of the dielectric diffraction grating. The present invention provides a polarizing film with a novel structure, and by optimizing the structure of the dielectric diffraction grating and the metal layer, the film can simultaneously satisfy optical properties such as low absorption loss, a high extinction ratio, and a wide angle of incidence, making it advantageous for wide use. The present invention also relates to a manufacturing method of the polarizing film, and a light guide lens and a display device including the polarizing film.
