Abstract
The present application relates to a mixed strain composition having the ability to decompose whey proteins and improve lactose intolerance, and more specifically to a mixed strain composition of limocytosyl Lactobacillus reuteri LM1071 and Lactobacillus gasseri LM1065 that can decompose whey proteins into branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), arginine, and phenylalanine and improve lactose intolerance. The composition containing the mixed strains of the present invention, Lactobacillus reuteri LM1071 and Lactobacillus gasseri LM1065, has excellent whey protein decomposition ability and can decompose whey protein to produce branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine), arginine, and phenylalanine, which are useful for muscle building and preventing muscle loss. Furthermore, the composition has excellent beta-galactosidase activity and can decompose lactose. Therefore, the mixed strain composition can be used in foods, health functional foods, and infant formula to improve indigestion, diarrhea, abdominal distension, etc. caused by protein intake.
