Abstract
The energy of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-containing cells can be enhanced by obtaining platelets from blood, obtaining mitolets from the platelets, and co-incubating the mitolets with CAR-containing cells. Incorporation of mitolets into CAR-containing cells results in enhanced CAR-containing cells with increased metabolic activity. The enhanced CAR-containing cells can be used to treat indications treatable by CAR-containing cells. Mitolets can include coated mitochondria or mitochondria enclosed in vesicles.
