Abstract

The present disclosure provides a nanopore device for processing a fluid sample, comprising a substrate, an upper cavity including a first dielectric, a lower cavity including a second dielectric, a first dielectric membrane supported by the substrate and separating the upper and lower cavities, and a first set of electrodes and a second set of electrodes positioned in close proximity to the first dielectric, wherein the first set of electrodes and the second set of electrodes are configured to apply a first electric field to generate a corona discharge, thereby forming one or more nanopores in the first dielectric membrane.
