Abstract
Electro-optical methods and devices that allow efficient poling of ferroelectric devices. The electro-optical device comprises a waveguide, a barium titanate (BTO) layer adjacent to the waveguide, a heater electrode for heating the BTO layer near the waveguide, and at least one poling electrode adjacent to the waveguide for establishing an electric field in the BTO layer heated by the heater electrode.
