Abstract

To suppress damage of a cushioning material due to heat during welding.SOLUTION: The shock absorbing structure 2 is attached to an end portion 11 of a cylindrical cask 1 that houses a fuel assembly. The shock absorbing structure 2 is a welded structure having a housing space R formed therein, and includes a cover part 3 attachable to the end 11 of the cask 1, a shock absorbing part 4 which is an assembly of shock absorbing materials and disposed in the housing space R, and a fire-resistant sheet 51 disposed between at least one welded part 361,362 of the cover part 3 and the shock absorbing part 4 in the housing space R. In the shock absorbing structure 2, it is possible to suppress damage to the shock absorbing material due to heat during welding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
